The Swedish Blue is a hardy, dual-purpose duck breed known for its striking blue-gray plumage with a white chest patch, originating from Pomerania (now Poland/Germany) and developed for meat and eggs. They are calm, good foragers, and lay 100-150 white or tinted eggs per year, making them popular for homesteads and as pets. The breed is considered "at risk/endangered" in Sweden, but "watch" in the US.
